Christmas 2026 Kennel & Cattery Availability in Sydney (Updated Weekly)
Last updated: 24 Oct 2026 · 12 providers tracked · next check due 31 Oct 2026
Sydney kennels and catteries set their toughest rules over Christmas and New Year: minimum stays of 7 to 14 nights, Christmas surcharges and non-refundable deposits. This page tracks what each provider publicly says about Christmas 2026.
Every fact links to its source and shows the date we checked it. None of the Sydney providers we checked on 23 October 2026 published a "fully booked" notice, so their status shows as "not published" — that does not mean they have space. Call ahead.

Sorted by status, then name; use the column buttons to re-sort. On phones each provider shows as a card; on mid-size screens scroll the table sideways. "Daily rate" is the lowest published non-peak rate (or the holiday rate where that is all that is published) — Christmas surcharges and minimum stays are listed separately.

What the Christmas rules mean for your budget
Minimum stays and surcharges add up quickly. At Aragon Cattery the 14-night Christmas minimum at the $60 apartment rate is $840 per cat before the $20/night peak surcharge (source (opens in a new tab), checked 23 Oct 2026). At Sydney Pet Resort a small dog in a standard kennel is $92/day plus the $26 Christmas surcharge, so a week costs about $826 before Sunday and public holiday surcharges (source (opens in a new tab)). At the luxury end, SmallPaws' 10-day minimum at its lower peak suite rate of $242 is $2,420 (source (opens in a new tab)). These are our arithmetic from published figures; your quote may differ.

Christmas boarding FAQ
Are Sydney kennels booked out for Christmas 2026?
None of the 12 Sydney providers we track published a booked-out notice when we checked on 25 Oct 2026. That does not mean they have space — most only confirm availability by phone, email or their booking system.
How long is the minimum stay at Sydney kennels and catteries over Christmas?
Published Christmas minimums among the Sydney providers we track: 7 days (Pet Resorts Australia Dural and Ingleside; Barnstone Kennels & Cattery, whose Christmas Rate dates change yearly and are not published; Hotel for Cats comfort condos), 10 days (SmallPaws Pet Hotel for bookings 22 Dec–4 Jan; Hotel for Cats junior/senior suites) and 14 nights (Aragon Cattery for any dates 18 Dec 2026–4 Jan 2027; Hotel for Cats penthouse, estate and grand suites). Amore Boarding and Pawfect Stay say minimum-stay charges may apply but do not state a length.
Do Sydney kennels charge more at Christmas?
Yes, most that publish rules do. Sydney Pet Resort adds $26 per dog per day from 20 Dec to 28 Jan; Pawfect Stay adds $10 (small) or $15 (medium/large) per dog from 19 Dec 2026 to 10 Jan 2027; Aragon Cattery adds $20 per night in peaks; Amore Boarding's single room rises from $70 to $90 a night in peak periods; Dogs in Town's holiday price list runs $155–$212 a day from 10 Dec 2026 to 10 Jan 2027.
How much do I pay upfront for a Sydney Christmas booking?
Pet Resorts Australia and Barnstone take a 25% booking fee that is not refunded (it becomes a credit if you cancel more than 30 days ahead); Sydney Pet Resort wants full payment 30 days before a Christmas check-in; Dogs in Town says peak deposits are non-refundable. Others do not publish their deposit terms.
What vaccinations do Sydney kennels require?
C5 for dogs is the norm (Sydney Pet Resort, Kip, Barnstone, Pet Resorts Australia); cats need F3. Hanrob also requires an annual canine cough vaccination, and Hanrob and Pet Resorts Australia want vaccinations given at least two weeks before arrival.
What if every kennel near me is full?
Widen your search across regions (the Hills District and Northern Beaches have several larger resorts), consider kennel-free home boarding or a pet sitter, and ask to join waiting lists — cancellations happen after payment deadlines.

We read each provider's own website on the date shown and record only what they publish. We re-check this page weekly until mid-January 2027. Excluded after checking: Max's Kennel Club (Brunswick, WA), Cat Utopia (Central Coast) and Kip's Hunter Valley and Lake Macquarie sites (outside Sydney). Australpets' site returned an error on the day we checked. Providers can send us an update.
